Air Supported Tents

An air supported structure is a building system that supports itself by a pressure change within the membrane. Pressure under the fabric is maintained by blowing in air through inflation fans enabling the structure to stand on its own without the support of a steel construction frame. These structures create the greatest volume with the least amount of material used.

The basic operation principle of air supported structures is based on the pressure difference created by the air blown in through the ventilation system. The pressure within the fabric is about 1% of the pressure measured in a typical car tire.  A generator-powered standby unit is usually required for maintaining the continuity of activities in case of a power failure. Providing access to the structure via revolving doors will help keep the pressure inside at the required level.

Membrane is inflated after it’s anchored to the ground first. This is generally done by use of a concrete beam which holds the structure in place.

Air supported structures are among the most preferred products by our customers. Easy and rapid construction and deconstruction, uninterrupted clear space inside due to absence of any profiles, easy storing with the minimum area of storage space when packed, are just a few of the advantages that are offered by air supported structures.

These structures provide a perfect solution for moving outdoor sports and recreational activities indoor. Swimming, tennis, soccer and basketball make a partial list for some of these activities that can go uninterrupted during the winter months. Translucent membranes can block most of the UV light while still providing a very good level of natural daylight. These most welcomed features of the fabric can prevent the hazardous effects of sunlight on the human skin and offer substantial savings on energy expenses by reducing the need for artificial lighting. The absence of metal profiles in the structure will help keep the inner space quiet as there will be no annoying sound echo from the steel members. These structures can be easily and quickly dismantled, relocated and stored if and when needed.

An additional transparent insulation material applied on the outer surface of the fabric provides an extra acoustic insulation as well as substantial savings on the energy expenses paid for heating/cooling purposes. On the basis of our customers’ specific needs, we operate a fair pricing policy and offer optional accessories like revolving doors, ventilation systems etc. which complement the functionality of air supported structures.

Aside from the experience that we have built on steel construction structures since 1974, we designed, manufactured and installed the very first air supported structure in Turkey.
